Background

Dr. Brian Gibson is the Wilson Family Professor and Professor of Supply Chain Management in the Department of Systems and Technology at the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University. Dr. Gibson teaches logistics and supply chain management courses in Auburn’s undergraduate, graduate, and distance learning programs.

Academic

Dr. Gibson has an MBA and earned his PhD from the University of Tennessee. Dr. Gibson is active in supply chain management research. He has co-authored 25+ articles and is a frequent presenter at industry conferences. Recent articles have appeared in the International Journal of Logistics: Research and Applications, International Journal of Logistics Management, Journal of Business Logistics, and Supply Chain Management Review. He is the recipient of the 2004 Research Award for the College of Business and serves as an editorial review board member or reviewer for five publications.

Dr. Gibson received the 2004 MBA Teaching Award, the 2002 McCartney Teaching Award and the 2002 Outreach Award for the College of Business.

Corporate

Dr. Gibson participates in executive education, corporate training, and consulting projects. He is a curriculum planner and instructor for Accenture’s Supply Chain Academy. Dr. Gibson has also participated in the development and delivery of training programs for multiple organizations, including IKEA, Ryder Integrated Logistics, Saturn, Transfreight, Unilever, and WC Bradley. Dr. Gibson is involved in the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals as a project researcher, roundtable advisor, and conference presenter. He is also on the executive committee of the Distribution Business Management Association.
